The water pipe part 2
California might also build a canal to washington. The problem with a canal is that dead things could fall in and float all the way to california. A person would not like to swim in a pool mixed with a dead moose....
What about salmon?
Very few Salmon servive the trip back from the ocean, and many more die! If you build a pipe, they might go in and all die because of the pollutedness of californias citys. SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE THE FISH! SAVE WATER!
What to do?
I live in Rhode island so this doesn't concern me, but I say we need to make new inventions to get water!
The water pipe
If California was able to divert the columbia what would they do? Build a pipe to it? If they built a pipe to washington a bear might fall in and swim to california and eat people there...
Hold on, hold on
Your language seems a little inflated. California isn't "dying of thirst". There are many other options for California to look at - what are some other ones? Do you have research to back up your claims?
Silly California! Our Rivers are for us!
Hey Calfornia, how about you build some desalization plants to take water from the oceans. Also, if you use sewage, you can heat it to get pure water! I have plants that need to be fed so GET OUT OF MY RIVER!!!!!!! :)
forget them! i want me water !!! X[)
well, if we divert the columbia....
then our "other two rivers" will scream with joy
then our "other two rivers" will scream with joy
Washington And its water
Washington should be able to keep its water. California had the Colorado river, and look what they did to it! They literally DESTROYED IT!!!! If washington lost the columbia then the other rivers could not keep up with giving water to the population of washington, since the other rivers are far to small....
California has enough water
California should build desalinization plants, maybe they can use our n. energy to build desalization plants which let you take ocean water, clean it, and make fresh water. ( read about it)
Washington would be helpless
Seriously, if California takes Washington's water then California would waste all the water like the Colorado River then that means two states in fifty-seventy-five years would have no water.

Let's be a fair judge, OK?
To Washington: Washington, though the Columbia River goes through your state, look at how many rivers you would still have if the Columbia River was diverted. California is dying of thirst down there, and there are way more people in California than in Washington. However, for the time being, I think that you should keep your river, but later, give it away.
To California: Though you have more people, and they are dying of thirst, make the best with what you have, which you guys are not doing. Look at the Colorado River and what you have done to it. Fix that, and then, if needed, divert some of the Columbia River

California should WIN!!
Lets start out by looking at the the facts. Washington only has about 8 million people, where as California has 38 million. For that reason, more people would be helped by diverting the Columbia River to Washington. Also, the Tri-Cities area would, if the river was diverted, still have 2 rivers left, which is enough for a place as small as the Tri-Cities. All in all ,the benifits of diverting the Columbia River outweigh the risk.
